Music Babble

I studdied philosophy in college and it is difficult to understate how many people who saw The Matrix when they were in high school would say things like "People now are more aware of these issues becaues of things like The Matrix," and really regarded it as something that brought some new enlightenment to Western culture. I'm sure most of them grew out of it and maybe the movie was really good for them, getting them to think about philisophical problems for the first time or whatever, but ugh, was so annoying.

Definiley knew people who thought AB meant alot to them too, although I heard about it alot less and they didn't bring it up in class. Okay once, because our film professor said we could suggest any movie we thought he could show in future classes as long as we had a reason. Someone suggested AB "because of the cinematography" and he said he didn't really like it or think that it did anything new or important with the cinematography. I suggested Easy Rider for the New Wave influence on American film and he said he'd showed it before but wasn't using it that semester.
