It's a really creepish song about a high-schools girl with a crush on some hot guy. It's a ####ing terrifying song IMO, especially if you've ever been stalked. The song is basically crossover country, and it was I think her first mainstream single and then she did the follow-up which sold bonkers. It had "Shake It Off" and "Bad Blood" and "Blank Space", which were inescapable even if you've never heard the album or even Swift in general.
The girl gets with the guy at the end of the "You Belong With Me" video, btw.
To my knowledge I've never knowingly heard a song by Cardi B, that really ugly woman that I can't remember the name of (Nicki Minaj! That's it), The Weeknd, Harry Styles, that guy who is identifiably a man but who uses they/them pronouns until he got sick of it, Drake, Post Malone, or BTS. Key word: "knowingly" -- I've probably heard a dozen of their songs.
