Music Babble

Chip Away the Stone is another one I would think people knew from the radio, but I get the impression I grew up with classic rock stations that played larger than average catalogues from popular bands. When I saw them live they played it as part of the encore, so I assumed that they expected alot of people to recognize it.

Its album release was part of this weird comp, which could only have come in out in a era when there were compilations aimed at long-time fans who weren't ready to spend the money replacing all their lps with more portable media:

great tracklist, imho, but who bought it other than people who'd heard all the ablums before? It did make a great library rental when I was first getting into the band.
