I watched Scream last night after making that post. It was fun, regardless of whether or not I "waited too long" to see it. I will say that the most conventional sequence, the opening, was my favorite part of the movie. Once the tone is established it didn't really have the same level of suspense. I was surprised how little of the movie between the opening and climax had real "horror" sequences. Maybe it went on a little too long? But it was a good time.
I'm gonna watch Doctor Sleep even if it's supposed to suck.
A few more I plan to watch:
Suspiria - The original. I know you said the remake is terrible
Isle of the Dead / Bedlam - Two Val Lewton movies I haven't seen because the DVD in my box set was defective. I picked up a new one but haven't watched it yet. I'll count these as one movie for the purpose of my 15 movies (and if I bother with the Scream sequels, which I might not, I'm not counting them).
Probably at least some of these:
The Host
The Color Out of Space - The Nicholas Cage one. The b&w German version bored me.
Brain Damage
I Was A Teenage Zombie
Dagon
Zombie 3
Tumbbad
