The problem with a lot of the coaches for the "elite" organizations is they are paid to do one thing and that is to win. They have their core 9-11 girls that they care about. The other 5-6 girls are on the team just for numbers to pay for the coaches and to keep the lights on. Kind of like the practice squad in the NFL. Watch how many teams don't bat and play everyone in pool play and even in round robins. If you see this it should be a huge red flag with exception of POs.
There is so much bashing of parent coaches on this board. One thing most parent coaches (not paid) do is they put developing the girls ahead of winning. Yes there are bad parent coaches that do the "daddy ball" thing as there are also good paid non-parent coaches that do put development first. My daughters have both played for parent coaches and non-parent coaches and we have had good and bad experiences with both.
