As for your second question, regarding if parent relationships have any part in the Bandit recruiting process? That is more difficult to answer, the best man in my wedding had a daughter that was a softball player and was talented enough for me to make some calls on her behalf and get an athletic scholarship but she wasn’t good enough, in my not so humble opinion, to play for the Bandits. On the other hand, someone who caddied for me years ago, daughter came to the Bandits when she was 9 and played her career as a Bandit and is currently playing in the Big 10 because she was talented enough to be a Bandit.
Relationships matter to some degree but I try not letting emotions ever get in the way of making the tough decisions with regards to Bandit’s rosters. Talent, skill and attitude trump relationships every time for me.
