Both Profit and @softball dad can be correct. With a 501 C you are able to be on a salary but can't take year end profits. You can have expenses covered but you are a non for profit so anyone can see what you spent your money on, including the families you are charging. I doubt many heads of softball organizations are on salaries and would guess more actually donate time and money to their program. If the goal was to make money, it would be much easier to be a traditional LLC., which would keep the taxes and accounting private.
