unfortunately, there are a lot of unqualified, overrated and just plain bad coaches in the "travel game". they play their kids, their kids friends, the coaches drinking buddies kids, etc. so there are probably some very good, talented kids that don't get all the reps that they would earn if the playing field was fair.

its important for the player to continue to train, get stronger, faster, etc. and not worry about what some tunnel vision coaches do. if you are good, you will get your shot. at the college level, the coaches want and need to win, if they do not, they probably won't last long. they will get the best on the field. travel and daddy coaches love to chase the trophies, but love to play their favorites even more.
