The comment above is about Lake Central. A player’s grandfather was simply asked to volunteer and run a pitching workout for three freshmen while the pitching coach was unavailable this week. This is someone with decades of experience — he previously ran Schererville Softball, coached at Lake Central, led a Division II program for 13 seasons that reached the World Series, and spent 11 more seasons coaching a highly successful junior college team. He is not part of the LC staff. Once again, it seems some parents or “fans” would rather create rumors than deal with facts. Maybe the time spent spreading misinformation would be better directed toward supporting the program.
