You don’t consider Northwestern a P4? And what do you suggest he do? Say thanks to all college coaches but special thanks to the P4s? The schools are listed as they check-in, not by their perceived importance to college softball. And the P4 schools are realistically there looking at a select few teams/players.

I know it tends to get lost on this board, but a little less than 8% of high school softball players nationwide go on to play college softball. About 1.5% go on to play D1. Even fewer play P4. As a coach, I’m proud of all of my players for finding their right fit in college softball, whatever level that may be.

Besides, I don’t think it makes much sense from a tourney director perspective to alienate your ‘other’ coaches who statistically are recruiting more players at the tournament than your P4s who may be there to watch a handful of girls/teams.
