Just wondering if anyone had advice/experience on JUCOs. Looks like the schedules are the same, wondering about practice times, scholarships, etc. Also, from an academic sense what percentage of classes transfer to colleges? I know everything is potentially different but just wonder about your family's experience.

As an umpire of these teams I find it much more relaxed environment. While some coaches are still nutty, most coaches have what they have and go with it. They try and recruit and realize the pond they fish in isn’t very bountiful. BUT that being said, there are some real reasons to go a Juco route. Get the gen Eds out of the way, and play a little ball. Most coaches will give you the max. Join another sport just for fun and get some more money. Free is free.
They practice and travel just as any team would but with less expectations. JUCO coaches realize people have jobs and other commitments….that’s why they carry 25 kids

What is the most competitive .. for softball .. JUCO in the area? Do some operate as a feeder program for specific 4-year schools?

I think Parkland in Champaign generally has decent teams and feeds some of the Big Ten schools occasionally.
