Does anyone have any feedback on the Illinois Sluggers organization? Looking to make a move closer and was curious.

Good facilities. Decent coaches and they seem to be doing better with recruiting. They have college players assist with teams when they are home which is a definite plus.

I would definitely ask for a spreadsheet to see exactly where every penny of your fees goes to! Also, find out about attending board meetings.

Every time I get a parent who wants to see where "every penny" goes, I also give them a bill for the overrun.

Couldn't agree more. You accept the cost, ask what's included, make sure you attend everything that's outlined or move on to a new team.

I went in my pocket every year I coached, but I did learn to be definitive with expectations. Early on wasn't specific enough with the parents.

Absolutely avoid the 2011 team. complete daddy ball and a revolving door of players year after year

Always do your homework. Look to see if coaches daughter is given unfair treatment like #1 pitcher, always same spot in batting order while other kids are moved around, always SS, CF or other position. Most teams are public on gamechanger and usually the ones that aren't are trying to hide something possibly daddyball. Ask parents of kids on the team, parents of kids on the team last year that left. You will get lots of info this way which can get you the answers you're looking for. Good luck.

That is often the case, as a highly involved parent will often work more with their player outside of practice. Of course, no other parent would ever admit that.

People always hate on this team; I can only imagine who wrote this.
The coach always puts together a team that competes well.
I don't always agree with anyones actions, coaches or owners.

Just do your research.

Their website does not currently list a 16U team but thanks for the input.
