I'd love it if this board could save me the $12 it costs to buy the NFHS softball rule book...
In a HS game this week, our IHSA umpire warned our coach after our team greeted a teammate at home plate after her home run. The celebration seemed entirely typical to this observer (not excessively long, loud or disruptive.) The umpire said that IHSA wants to crack down on that element of the game.
Has anyone else heard of this, either as an NFHS rule change or guidance from IHSA?
I hope not... talk about a joy kill for the girls.

I have been to many games so far this spring, seen many HRs and celebrations. ZERO times have I witnessed an umpire getting involved.
Tell him to show you the exact rule that backs up his comments.
