100% correct. Lincoln Way Central should most definitely have back to back Gatorade Player of the year. It is not even a close race this year.

Im not saying the young lady down south isnt worthy of Gatorade player of the year but to say it isnt close is insanity. There is no way you have seen the other players potentially on the list. No way and say what you will but by the end of the year another TEAM from the North will have the trophy. I think the pitcher from Wheaton North who is going to SEC has like 3 earned runs all year. Tell me its not close thats crazy talk.

LOL, the Wheaton N pitcher’s 1.00 ERA is basically 1.00 higher than the “lady down south”. The “lady down south” has insane stats and here is the comparison:

LW-Central pitcher: 18-0 / ERA .39 / 7 total ER’s on 126 inn pitched / 266 K’s of 459 batters faced for 58% / .97 BAA / -.092 FIP

Wheaton N. pitcher: 12-3 / ERA 1.06 / 15 ER’s on 99 inn pitched / 108 K’s of 383 batters faced for 28% / .155 BAA / 1.85 FIP

In case anyone thinks the LW-Central pitcher is doing it against inferior competition, think again. According to MaxPreps LW-Central has the highest strength of schedule in the state at 17.79 vs Wheaton N at 13.28. She plays in arguably the toughest 4A conference in the state on currently the #1 team in the state. POTY race is over and it’s not close.

Not that we need to add to the resume, but overlooked sometimes the LWC pitcher is also the 3 hitter that leads the team in HRs and RBI.

18 Ks vs LWE and SCN. 21 Ks vs. Bradley-B in 9 IP shutout. Wins over Marist and Lake Central. Pretty sure all boxes have been checked up to this point. Also a humble person and good teammate.
