Which team ended up winning the DuKane conference this year?

GBN did! They also hit 51 total homeruns this year in 25 games!

GBN and SCN were co Champs, no tie breaker in Dukane. Not that it matters because it doesn't FM but both games that those two played this year ended with either a controversial call (dead ball off the foot not called) or a team didn't get thier last at bat because of weather. So let's chill a tad, they will highly possibly meet on 6/6 and that will mater more than any of this conference crap.

With the bad quality of umping this season, there were so many questionable game changing calls in most games. I've never seen so many bad and missed calls with two ump crews. Its embarrassing for the sport. Even seen umps not knowing the rules. HS Varsity deserves better.

Time to bring in some new blood - saw some younger umpires doing good work, but the majority of games were the older set.

Please, please, please.... Get in contact with an assignor, take the test, work your way to doing HS varsity games. That'd be one less game an assignor would have to worry about getting someone there to umpire.

Unfortunately, there are bad umpires who make their way through the system at all levels of play. The former MLB umpire Angel Hernandez was one of the most notoriously poor umpires ever. Even with all the performance reviews MLB umpires have he did not improve. I wonder how many crews refused to work with him because he was so bad.

A solid two-way playing pitcher, a very good coach and a generational player at SS… Congrats to GBN!

If you made an all-star team from this season’s DuKane, it would beat at least one of the state’s two Big Ten teams!

I'd move WWS second baseman to third (Chaney) and play GBN's second baseman (Whelan) at second, or play WWS's freshman third baseman (Bobor).

the only player that matters in either conference is the future seminole for LWC. If she is on, and isn't tired from too many innings this season. They are the favorite. Then again, they were in the same situation last year. They shouldn't even need her to pitch until their 3rd game of the playoffs.

I love watching parents get all puffed up on high school accolades. If you're making statements like that, you honestly have zero idea of the competition level in the Big Ten. Go look at the pedigree of the players on any Big Ten team, and they're as good as or better than your kids. I hope you get some playing time. Everyone who had to listen to you will enjoy your failure.

I’d disagree that GBN has only those three ingredients.

I’d disagree with some of that conference all-star list.

But the B1G comment seemed more about Illinois than the conference. They’re not a strong team right now, and rarely do they hold onto the state’s better HS players. It’s not inconceivable that the state’s best could compete against a team that isn’t competitive in the Big Ten!

The vast majority of the DuKane All-Stars aren't P4 recruits, so it's kind of a moot point. The first three bios I opened on the U of I site were First Team All-State in their respective states, including Illinois, so at the very least, their potential was far higher going in. Nothing's inconceivable, but the college game and the practice/prep work that goes into it have a way of humbling potential. In a DuKane Conference softball tiebreaker scenario, the following steps are used to determine the winner:
1. Head-to-Head:
If two teams are tied, their head-to-head record is the first tiebreaker. The team with the better record against the other tied team is the winner.
2. Common Opponents:
If the head-to-head record is also tied, the team with the better record against common opponents is determined. The win percentage against all common opponents is compared.
3. Run Differential:
If the tie persists, the team with the highest run differential against all common opponents is determined. *
4. Runs Scored:
If the tie continues, the team with the most runs scored against all common opponents is considered. *
5. Random Draw:
If all other tiebreakers fail, a random draw by the Commissioner or designee is used to determine the winner.
