NCAA Slapper Rule

There’s an NCAA Softball rule on the table to allow the batter to step outside the batter's box as long as part of her foot is still on the chalk.

Good or bad? I know all you "only hit that matters is a home run" will disagree.

This realigned the rule with all the other sanctioning bodies, as it should be. Slappers will always have a place in softball as long as the bases stay at 60'.

That is how the rules used to read. I do not know why they changed it. If a ball is touching any part of the chalk while the rest of it is in foul territory it is still a fair ball. Same should go for the box.
