Who owns Alliance? I wonder if many Midwest teams participate because the National events are held in Indiana.

Undoubtedly, teams gravitate to tournaments that are geographically local. Not sure if you can differentiate between the competitiveness of either national tournament, and you might as well cut out a thousand miles and hundreds of dollars from the cost.

Alliance is owned by a group of orgs. Teams have to earn bids and qualify to make it to Alliance Nationals. You can't just sign up for it.

Both organizations require teams to play in their tournaments to qualify.
