Alliance is definitely a much better option

Saw that the PGF 18U Premier A bracket "blind" draw had the Beverly Bandits 18U Conroy immediately playing the Birmingham Thunderbolts 18U Premier in their first game. (Thunderbolts won 3-2). So ridiculous. I am sure both teams were thrilled to see that schedule. Yeah, let's have one of these two "Premier" teams immediately go into the Losers bracket.

Hated the PGF blind draw. When my daughter's team went to Cali, the blind draw had us playing another local IL team right off the bat. Went all the way out to Cali to get paired in bracket playing a local IL team. And yeah, I know. You just gotta win either way, but still...

If I were a midwest team with mid-major talent, I'd play Alliance. The P4 schools will be represented at both, but you can expect the Midwest schools to be out in force in scenic Indiana. Just makes more sense for most of this board's readers.

When my daughter was playing (PGF) Alliance was just starting up. And while she played in Cali (PGF) she was not P4 talent. She certainly enjoyed Cali, but in retrospect she would have been better off from a recruiting standpoint playing Alliance.

She actually received the most exposure in Scenic City.

The northeast and the midwest has the highest concentration of mid majors, I'm sure those coaches and their budgets are happy as well with the close location.

Speak the name so that I to may no longer dwell with these mid-major aspirants as I too wish such lofty desires for my DD! Speak it now or STFU you ignorant buffoon! There are more girls playing at the high school level than there are roster openings in P4 so where the F would you have them go? If some mid-major wants to pay for your DD’s education is it your assertion here that you would turn the offer down because it’s Not P4? Don’t just GTFO Get ALL The F’Ing Way Outta here! You and every parent on here will take that education and money then drive your happy little asses to see your DD play @ PoDunk U every time. The whole P4 vs mid-major thing... After closely watching 5 years of college softball, there is not a lot of talent difference from the mid-to-lower P4 players and the mid-to-higher mid-major players. The #1 or #2 pitchers swing the talent difference on P4s, as do the top 3 or 4 hitters on a P4 team. More and more I saw mid-majors competing with and beating P4 teams, sometimes even with the #1 or #2 P4 pitching. The better mid-major conference teams can definitely play with P4 and beat them any given day. After watching tons of families and player situations, it is obviously better if your daughter has an opportunity to play versus sit the bench. I'd have my daughter chose a decent mid-major and play all the time any day over maybe playing at a P4.

Huh? Somebody's a little twitchy.

My point was that some of the schools my daughter is interested in, which are midwestern mid-majors, will go to Indiana but not California. Therefore, Alliance is a much better deal for my family. If your kid is SEC-level talent, they'll be at both.

How is that post ridiculous? Mid majors do not have the recruiting budget equal to the P4 colleges. Its not a dig just the truth.

First time attending Alliance… it’s fantastic.

Not bashing PGF, it’s a great organization of course, but the complex and accessibility to everything is fantastic. Exactly right about the umpires, and Bullpen’s staff is the friendliest organizer I’ve ever seen. (How about them offering golf cart rides to anyone - not just coaches?)

An ocean would be an improvement… but the ease of driving in, not having to rent a car, not deal with LA traffic, affordable hotels and plenty of nearby food and restaurants is AWESOME.

They do seem to have issues with unnatural weather during their national events. Part of it is where they're at, the rest is bad luck.

The thing I love most about the alliance is it gives an alternative for people to stop bowing down and kissing the rear end of BC.
If your daughter is tempted enough to play for the Bandits, she is certainly talented enough to tell BC to take a hike.
The Alliance is step one of that detox program for the water cooler parents who just can’t stomach the idea of their DD not playing for BC

But you like the taste of Mike Stith, Greg Dickel, Tony Rico and Marty Tyson's rear-end. They are the reason we are now paying $1,495.00 to play in a tournament. I would also bet your daughter doesn't play for any of them, franchise teams don't count.
