How many is

We started a new team and right now we are at 16. How many is too many?

Well, the org can play pretend they are creating a college atmosphere and roster 23. Like I said, they can play pretend and continue to rip off the parents because the org knows the first time parents will pay for whatever cheap message the org is sending.

No need for more than 14-15 players. 3-4 pitchers and 11 position players. Anymore than that and you are just wasting parents money and players time.

We played the Corona Angel's and they had 24 on the team. P4, D1 players sitting the bench. It was crazy how deep that team was and it benefited them when having to play multiple games in a day. We kept a large roster of 16 but nothing like them. If your team sucks and you are cutting the grass and bbqing on Sunday then I would say keep as few on the team as possible since your team does not last long in tournaments so your kid gets playing time.

The team is Corona Angels Tyson. You will have to Google them because your daughter's team will never play at that level to get a chance to see them!

Yep, been there a number of times and seen it with my own eyes. And Angels arent the only ones. Don't know why people have to come on here and try and shoot holes in the example. Been this way for a while.

Playing is earned, not paid for. Have plants of options when someone is slumping.

I always like having a bigger roster to increase competition and accountability. Load it up.

Sounds like it's about you. You can create accountability and competition without a college size roster. It seems like these bigger roster are just the big money grab.
Digging in deeper to your love for that big roster. Is it really about accountability and Competition or is it about you? In the end will you give athletes a chance to step up or will you always go with your "gut" feeling and not trust your weaker links in game time situations? How do you do you give chances with the short time limits? Just sounds like anymore than 16 is a cash cow.
The next question is,in July where will your numbers be? Who will all together give up the sport? The more I think about it, sounds like everything is about you. Maybe you have an issue developing players and need to have that "team competition"? In the end it will all come out.

Most college coaches agree with bigger roster numbers, and creating playing time competition.

You left a couple questions unanswered.
Where and when do you give your athletes the opportunity to earn play time?
Do you bat your line up in the fall during a showcase or do you bat nine? If you have a player that is the weaker link but shows up for every practice do you sit her over the player that misses practice but has that OBP that your looking for? Quit worrying about you and answer these questions.

This is exactly the reason why there are so many daddy teams in Indiana. Instead of challenging their daughter, they want to make sure she's pitching, playing a position, and hitting. Oh yea, and we're hiding the stats because we don't want you to see how bad she is.

The sooner she learns how to earn playing time, and to fight for it, the better.

Depends on the age, 12 and under, they all need playing time, no more than 12, after that, 15 to 16 with injuries.
