Gatorade candidates:

1. Pitcher at Beecher (FSU)
2. Pitcher/1B at Loyola (NW)
3. Pitcher at Oswego (Purdue)
4. Catcher at StCE (S Car)
5. Pitcher at StCE (S Car)
5. Catcher at Yorkville (IA)

My daughter played with the LWE pitcher and you are the one focused on her. If LWE or Marist make it to state, the pitcher from the respective school will have a pretty good shot at POY.

For one, LWE isn't going to state. They are overrated every year, and the coach is awful. For two, last I knew their pitching was pretty mid. . If there is a pitcher from that conference that is a POTY year candidate it would be more like the pitcher from Bradley or maybe from LWW.

We should probably wait until the regular season is complete before worrying about awards.

This is also what is wrong with the coaches struggling to get their teams playing together. Each player is fixated on individual awards, the team suffers, and underachieves.

Let's be better as parents in 2026, and talk about the team more.

The Loyola and Oswego P both can hit (and do it well). The STCE pitcher is a P only and thus offers much less value to the high school team.
