Local gals

Great to see local girls on the biggest stages. I can't claim to have watched all of them this weekend, but congrats is due to the former GBN SS now starting at 3B for NW. That kid is a stud and it will be really fun to watch her career.

It’s usually best to let the season progress for a bit before declaring who’s a stud and who isn’t. The kid from the original post is very athletic and may very well end up a stud with a great career but her current stats aren’t looking so great…by the end of the season it may be completely different or not. There are a LOT of Indiana and Illinois players in the power 4 who are having fun and playing a ton. There are others that a role players who are also doing great as well. Just sit back and enjoy the best sports season of the year!

She is a phenomenal athlete and I hear she's a great kid. Her dad however couldn't be a bigger douche if he tried. I witnessed him make a scene which disrupted a game at SCE all over high school aged boys cheering during the game. Don't get me wrong these boys were obnoxious but he was way out of line with what he said to them and the game had to be stopped with the ump and coaches calming him down. I hope he doesn't try this shit in Evanston.

It got out of hand because the boys weren’t even from that school. They were following some of the girls from ste via social media. The girls didn’t even know them. Multiple parents and the coach asked them to stop and behave. They were being disrespectful and started swearing. Meanwhile ste AD was standing behind the bleachers and did nothing to stop their behavior the whole game. It’s not just one persons fault. Can’t hate on the man sticking up for everyone.

She looked good. Big weekend for a freshman. Unique player.

Georgia infielder, freshman too - from Marist, also hitting the ball well with limited ABs.

Oregon pitcher from LWC will have another nice year and end with a great career.

It's always a feel-good seeing local Chicago kids on the field, especially at a P4. Stud is always subjective, based on actual stats, but to each their own.

Quantitatively, she's hitting .273 in the young season. That's not much by itself, but (a) she's a freshman and (b) they faced some great teams in Clearwater. Where I thought she looked beyond her years was on defense.

If you watched the NW games, her errors were all throwing and a couple of them probably should've been fielded by first. They weren't the best throws but not 100 on her. Just saying.

Wow .. you're going to have a long four years, you, the player, and the coaching staff.

You should have the Big Ten review the plays; don't put up with bad scoring.

But why go look that up? Kid made some great plays and shows a lot of athleticism.

I'm not this players dad, and my daughter has never played with this player. Just a fan.

But you saying that kid is "meh" is all we need to know.

My kid did play with this NW star. Great family. Great kid. Very talented. I wish her the best.

If I need an autograph some day at least I have an in.
