IHSA Playoffs

It's sectional week! Can we get some upsets? What's catching everyone's eye? Are there going to be video reviews of plays at first base? LOL

Least surprising thing ever for them to lose..again, in the same spot they lose every year! So much talent every year, but literally zero results. Went out with a whimper once again....Taking that L while only getting 2 hits the whole game and were shut out. They had a bunch of D1 seniors who we've been hearing about for 4 years, only to lose to a team with zero D1 commits. Just a horribly coached team with zero leadership from players or coaches. I have no idea how that coach keeps her job, other than nobody really cares about HS softball that much.
I just wish our team got to knock them out on Friday instead, but LW-(L)East never makes it that far.

So much can be said about LWE. They have two feeder schools that have been competitive at the Junior High Level, they have all the talent, but no notable wins. It is a great group of girls, but you can tell in the last 2-3 weeks did not want to play any more. Yes...a few injuries occurred, but the depth of the program is unmatched. The program is lacking a coach that knows how to coach. There is no team building or consistent practice expectations.
It almost looks like the coaching staff does not want to play a single game after May 31st....ever.
How does LWE JV team go undefeated for multiple seasons, the Varsity roster hardly changed, and they still loose?

Next season will be interesting, 9 seniors gone, most of them were starters for the last 4 season. What will happen....we will all see.

Once again an adult feels the need to question the leadership and talent of teenage girls. Get a life. Hope your team wins state while those 4 girls are getting a free ride. They have accomplished something you will never accomplish.(Queue, now is the time you tell me about your Glory Days) You should just wish them the best and go along your merry way. Enjoy Peoria.

You keep believing that. I am sure you can go get a job as a recruiting coordinator. The jealousy is so overwhelming, it must be difficult for you. Why can't you just be happy for someone else's accomplishment. Always tearing other people down, always the critic, life must be miserable for you. Facts, Illinois has about 300 players playing NCAA D1 Softball, assuming 4 years of players that comes to 75 players per class from Illinois. If your daughter really is one of the top 75 players in her class in you should be spending your time and energy trying to convince coaches of that and not tearing other people down.

Apparently someone more important than you thinks they can play the game. They must have hit when it counted most, during the summer when the coach was watching. You are obviously an expert talent evaluator. Maybe you should have used your knowledge to develop your DD into a D1 athlete. It is apparently fairly easy. I bet you thought the same of those other LWE players who never won anything, Katie and Daniel Stewart, Alex Soracko, Paige Geraghty. I can't believe you don't understand High School ball is meaningless. High School ball is for the parents of the girls who are not D1 material to hope their DD hits a homer off of, or strikes out the D1 one recruit then post it on social media. It is unbelievable the extent of how the parents and sometimes players on other teams harass D1 commits. You are not naming those 4 girls but you are harassing them.

Not all D1 commits are all that. So how do you make D1? And if you don't bat in high school ball, you'll never bat at the next level.

I think 4A is not as interesting as last year.

They really should break up the Chicago Region. OPRF walks into the Elite 8 easily each year, but out in Bartley the two St Charles teams will battle later this week.

Look out for Bradley Bourbonnais.

Don't buy your tix to the Saint Chuck championship yet. North almost tripped over S Elgin and with East you never know what youll get. Glebard East could easily take them tomorrow.

Bradley is a sleeper for sure.

OPRF has an easy road, but so does Marist and Oswego. Should build a bracket based on seedings and not just stick to georgraphy

The team two years ago took third place in conference and lost twice as many games as this years team.

But won state.... and doing it while beating the eventual 2025 champ and the defending 2023 champ along the way. A ton of the same players and no horseshoe in 2024 just a "better" team.

They never do! They are overhyped every year. But they finish in the same round every year. Cocky team with no accomplishments to back it up. The coach always thinks she is smarter than everyone else too.

You just proved the point. The fact that the coach still was not able to get anywhere with talent like Stewart, Storako, and MANY others ..... its more about the coach being horrible and the program being overhyped. They have had more talent than anyone over the last 8 or so years, yet have done nothing with it as far as the HS Playoffs.

I didn't prove your point you proved mine. Great Debate strategy by the way. High School Softball is a meaningless endeavor that only losers care about. Take a look in the mirror. Katie Stewart & Alexa Storoka have higher level things on their agenda as do the 4 D1 commits you are ripping. No one cares about the high school coach. If she was like Perry Peterson and won every year people like you would still say she was a loser. The implication was the girls should not have been recruited because they didn't win, which is BS

So now you need to win the state championship every year to be successful. Interesting. When was your last state championship? Coach 2P will end his career with more wins than any other high school coach. They may not win the state tournament this year but they are 35-0. LWE would be lucky to have him. FYI my most enjoyable moments were beating 2P's teams. I am not a fan but can't argue with the results.

6 days a week for months, OMG that is so difficult. FYI that is the minimum requirement. The great ones are working 6 days a week all year, they care about their development and compete whenever they step on the field. They also have developed themselves into great players long before they stepped onto a high school field. Their high school teams results don't make them better players and they don't define them as players. Let yourself enjoy your daughters "Glory Days".
