Illegal Bats

The IHSAA (Indiana) tests bats before the state championship games. There's a lot of smoke out there that Hanover had ten bats that tested illegal before their championship game. All the other three teams that played on that Friday had zero.

Lake Central had ZERO bats that tested too high. And they were the team who broke the Indiana state team home run record for a season. 74 big flies.

Please, let us know more about these illegal bats. Because 8 bats were not 7sed because the umps didn't allow. My daughter was one of them and had to use her Louisville that was 4 yrs old and still managed to hit the ball. Its always someone who loses that l9ves to make these accusations

Bat testing can be very inconsistent based on the person using the device. I personally saw my daughters 2 bats tested. One a Easton ghost and the other was her single piece aluminum bat she uses for hitting drippled balls in cages. The ghost tested fine, right on the number. The cheap $60 aluminum bat tested over the limit. So I asked myself, which should we be using during games??

Ten bats from one team, verses zero bats from the other three teams that played that day. I'm sure that's some sort of coincidence, in your mind. The rest of us with common sense know better.

That's right. I don't think any rules matter untill we can hammer out how to deal with the lefty cheaters. The pitcher should be allowed to hit the slappers with a pitch and have it count as a strike

Somebody has a less-than-agile third base "athlete" that can't get a slapper out. She's getting pulled, so daddy/mommy screams about the box to deflect from their lack of positional skills.

It's crazy that folks seem more worried about a slapper being out of the box, than rolled or shaved bats. SMH

Seams like if we care about the rules we need to care about all the rules. Once we break break one rule, we allow our selves to break all the rules.

It all begins with being out of the box. Then it turns into crow hopping when pitching, bat rolling, and ends up with middle age men playing right field with a doctored birth certificate and a fluid gender identity.

You mentioned the out of the box rule. You just upset several Dad’s whose lefty daughter can only get to first base after violating the batters box rule. Prepare for the “Play Better Defense” (against my cheating daughter) crowd to react negatively.

If you can't get a slapper out without crying to the umpire, that says something. Play a better slap defense, and practice it more. Or maybe play in B level tournaments.

Let me count the ways

1- walks
2- stationary, regular bunting
3- putting her elbow over the plate and into the pitch.
4- short stop over-throws, under-throws
5- pinch running
6- courtesy running

Show some respect. Slapping out of the box may be her super power, but just one weapon in her arsenal.
