New teams

This one took me by surprise! It went up quietly and fast. What do we think about the new Tinley Park dome?

What about the teams? From what I can tell, it looks like it's a bunch of randoms buying new and expensive uniforms. Did they steal the new name from the Orlando A's, or is this the same people rebranding again?

Do we think these guys are going to be some kind of new church teams reigning down on us? Does anyone have any information about who's running this and if they are any good?

Also, wasn't the Tinley Park dome supposed to be in old mental health care center? When did they decide move it next to the target?

I Pray and HOPE that this new organization or new structure is NOT based on Lies, Fundraising, Greed and smoke and mirrors. I Pray and HOPE there is no mustache involved. I am glad they are not hidden behind a church for illusion purposes (and a Tax ID#)
I Pray and HOPE they hold themselves accountable and strive to make everyone involved part of a great organization, like it was promised years ago.
I Pray to all of you young families open your eyes, evil has been in that softball community for years please do your homework and trust your first instinct.

We are SO excited about this new dome! We signed all our girls up for pickleball so they can learn to slap the paddle over the line during the offseason. Elite pickleball experience. Can't wait to go NATIONAL.

Just hoping their balls aren't dead.

Multiple sports = extremely elite hand-eye coordination. Pickleball scholarships, HERE WE COME.

And don't even get me started on the uniforms. Obviously, the girls need the most expensive custom uniforms money can buy because how else will everyone know we're elite?

Custom paddles? Absolutely. Personalized. Probably bedazzled.

They have a high school team… no idea what that means. All parent-coached teams. 100% guaranteed.

Can't wait to watch our girls dominate pickleball while wearing $400 uniforms and swinging custom paddles. Take all my money. Let's Go!

just what we needed an "Elite" Travel team !!! I haven't seen a program offer indoor training like this before.

Although practicing inside a dome seams like it is a "high pressure" environment.... And i don't think these guys are really "extreme".

The Mayor beat the Park Dist and got his dome up first. The park dist owns the mental health site. Don't know if they'll ever build anything, can't seem to tear it all down fast enough.

Tinley Park's Mayor and the Tinley Park Park district are... not getting along so well these days.

The metal health center was owned by the state of Illinois, and was left in a state of disrepair for decades. The site is contaminated with multiple forms of hazardous waste; Lead, asbestos, medical radiological wastes, and under ground tanks. However, it is 280 acre parcel of land in an area of high demand.

Tinley Park, the city, had been trying to buy the mental health center for decades, and had offered the state of tens of millions of dollars for it. The City wanted to build a mixed use racetrack / casino / Entertainment district. The state never seamed to want to sell it to the city of Tinley park

The Tinley Park park district, seemly out of nowhere, drafted plans to build a Sports complex on the site. The plan is to include 5 baseball fields, 6 soccer fields, a dome, and a stadium. In Almost immediately, the state of Illinois sold it to the park district for a dollar. This was in 2023.

The Park District has taken a large bite, and is still trying to fund the chewing and swallowing. The state of Illinois did give the park district an 18 million dollar grant, but that's a drop in the bucket. So far the Park district has begun phase one.

In the mean time, the City of Tinley Park went ahead and fast tracked a different dome to compete against the park district. There is a 15 minute video of a very bitter Tinley park mayor from 2024 that worth a look up.

Which one are you talking about - the "Go Pro Sports Dome" in Joliet or the "Interstate Dome" in New Lenox? Or is there another one in Tinley?

I saw the post on FB about "Elite Fastpitch Training" at the Interstate Dome... love that it also called out that it's "B Level".

It’s a step above rec.
We as parents lost our minds while all these organizations are making money. My next life I’m opening a soccer, volleyball or baseball/softball complex.
And please don’t be the parent that wrote back oh they a rent making kk way to pay for a summer house.
