Coaches Daughter

Posted by The big picture again on September 20, 2026, 5:05 pm

Dear President,
Please rotate your line up to give other 11u kids on your team the opportunities they need. Your daughter is not all that, and when you bat her 3/4 every game she will have the most opportunities. So please make some changes. This is not 18u and your are not going for a national championship these girls are trying and you need to give other girls opportunities. It is not all about your daughter.

No amount of talent will ever beat out favoritism

... and delusional parents will always beat impartial talent analysis.

Our kids all play at a level somewhere between how we see their games and how a college coach sees them.

Yep more of that sales pitch. "College Level" next you will have that 11u California trip planned! You know THAT ONE, "So the girls can showcase their talents". Almost better to invest your money financially rather than in softball. Take all the lessons, travel fees, equipment and of course what your dues are and add them up. It is a no brainer. Used car salesman at his best, stick to bending nails!

If you want to bat higher, hit better.

Get better.

So please explain how 11u kids are supposed to get better in game time situations if they are not giving the opportunity. Hitting off a machine is much different than live pitching. Hitting off a tee shows mechanics. Soft toss is mechanics and timing. Maybe his daughter is just a natural in his mind? Poor kid is subjected to false hope at such a early time in her softball career.

Every good coach knows, you have to bet your daughter first to give her the most opportunities.

Y'all look like a bunch of amateurs

i hear you. Frtunately, my daughter had a coach who went out of his way to ensure kids had their chance to hit. yes, he had a set lineup. but at lest during pool play, the second game's starting batter would be the batter after the first game's last batter who saw pictches. I dont see many coaches who do that.

My question is, why are you playing on this team? Leave!!! We play on a team and the coaches daughter is the best on the team and she should play all the time. But yes many many teams daddy will play their sh$tty daughter all the time.

Yes you would think he would run a continuous batting order. He like to talk about all the years he has coached the "upper levels" but you would think he would be more about developing. May be he just doesn't know how to develop? Maybe he only cares about his own daughter?
