Which VoIP features help customer support the most?

There are so many features bundled into VoIP that I’m not sure which ones actually make a difference for customer service. Some sound useful, others just sound like marketing. For those of you who use VoIP daily, which features really improve agent productivity and create a better customer experience? I’d like to know what matters most before committing to a provider.
