Hey everyone I’m trying to figure out what it might cost and look like to turn my unfinished basement into a more usable living space Right now it’s just bare concrete and exposed framing but I keep picturing it as a cozy family room play area or home office Maybe even a guest bedroom with a mini lounge I’ve been collecting ideas online but it’s been hard to balance aesthetics with cost and practicality When I look at inspiration boards I see gorgeous spaces but I have no idea how that translates into real dollars or what’s realistic to ask a contractor I’d love to hear if anyone here has completed a finished basement themselves or knows of a good resource that outlines different options and what each might involve It would be great to know what the process actually looks like and what people consider the most important upgrades
