Why do virtual pack openings feel so satisfying and how does that affect us?

The other day I caught myself getting way more excited about opening a pack than actually playing a match. The animation started, the lights flashed, and for a few seconds I genuinely felt that rush of anticipation. Even when the result wasn’t amazing, the buildup alone was fun. It reminded me of opening sticker packs as a kid — that same mix of hope and surprise. But it also made me wonder why it feels so intense in a digital format. Is it just clever design and presentation, or is there something deeper going on psychologically? And does that excitement change how we approach the whole mode?
