Earlier this year I spent two weeks traveling through different countries and relied heavily on hotel Wi-Fi, airport networks, and public internet in cafés. Before the trip, I thought VPNs were mostly for tech-savvy people, so I didn’t pay much attention to them. After a few days, though, I noticed that some apps behaved differently depending on my location, and I started wondering how secure those public networks really were. A friend told me that using a VPN while traveling could make things safer and more consistent, but I’m still not sure if it’s something most travelers genuinely need or just an extra precaution. For people who travel regularly, do you consider a VPN useful or unnecessary?
