I've always been curious about this too. Most people only think about removing the lint from the dryer filter, but the duct itself is easy to forget. From everything I've heard, the right tools make cleaning much more thorough and help improve airflow. It's definitely one of those maintenance jobs that seems simple until you learn what's actually involved.
