Re: What is the main difference between UI and UX design?

The easiest split for me is this: UX is the route, UI is what the route looks like. UX decides whether the user understands what to do next, how many steps it takes, and whether the task feels logical. UI decides how the screen looks while that happens. A product can be pretty but annoying, or plain but easy to use. The best result needs both.
