You're on the phone with a potential client

You're on the phone with a potential client, and as you're exchanging emails, you realize they're trying to drastically lower your price, demanding a ton of free extra services, and speaking in a dismissive tone. Everything inside you screams that you can't work with this person. But a panicked fear kicks in: "What if this is my last client this month? What if I refuse and end up broke?" You agree, and end up with three weeks of hell, late-night rework, and frayed nerves for a pittance. Remember the basic rule of the market: while your time and mental resources are occupied with toxic and cheap projects, you physically lack the space and energy to attract large, competent, and solvent clients. Learning to firmly and politely refuse those who don't appreciate your work is your first and most important step to true financial freedom.
