I'm going to mark the death of Kent as the end of cryonics, in my own mind. I'm following a new train of thought on my own that looks at the idea that the potential for mind had to preexist life and brains and matter... for mind to have "emerged"...so my philosophy is now that mind precended everything as Sir James Jeans wrote somewhere, and quoted in Prospects for Eternity by Edward W. Russell.

I now think Kent and Ettinger survive in a quantum realm. I no longer believe that the mind of a human emerges from nanomachines in the human brain or the connectome, which is preservable itself but not at a quantum level where the mind operates. The mind operates on a quantum probability scale and you can't "cryopreserve" or "freeze" a probability.

I think that I was able to get a telepathic signal about kent's impending deanimation about 2 weeks before his actual deanimation. I speculate that he was going in and out of conciousness and was able to signal me somehow.
