Just a few thoughts this morning: Talking to the Iraqi security guard, he pointed out he doesn't believe in God so I had the opportunity to say, as we had our friendly conversation, that's ok because God still believes in you. He gave me his missing tooth smile, that was worth it. He asked if I believe in Jesus, I said not so much (not telling him that Jesus was a metaphor, too complicated for parking lot quick conversation so I I said not so much as the big super god and pointed up making a sweeping motion with my arms].
I came home and the radio was tuned into a religious station with a good hymn on it saying how great you are... referring to God but I imagined the woman singing it was referring to me. The next song was God in us... which was good too. All about God, not Jesus-- which is a tricky proposition. It's easier to imagine God than Jesus. I think we intuit God and that Jesus is a construct with some good points and bad points where God is whatever we imagine it to be.
