As I see it now, hibernation doesn't involve the cease and desistment of the L-force and the T-force as defined by Edward W. Russel in "Design for Destiny" and "Prospect for Eternity". In fact, hibernation now becomes more interesting to me than cryonics in that regard. Hibernation would allow for the continuance of L and T Factors... without going into the flatline state. It would only entail a very low brainwave state and slightly lower metabolic rate like bears do it. This would be a form of travelling to a further future than one might otherwise have been able to get to.
I think someone wrote about taking a hibernation break for half a year every year in an article somewhere... which would allow a regular aging human to live to, effectively, 150% of where they might have lived to. If I'm 100 years of age in 2057 and had used hibernation at such a rate, I would be alive in 2103 instead of deanimated in 2057 without the hibernation time jumping.
If you're reading this, from somewhere I've cross posted it, let me know if you've heard of HTJ, Hibernation Time Jumping and where I can find more on it. I may very well be that Doug Platt and me invented it in 1985 and never published it. We had an Apple Macintosh desktop publishing system and had access to Bill And Saul so theoretically, with Steve Ruddel's funding, we could have officially notated it for cryonics history. I dont' think it was us, though it MAY have been.
