I'm spot-reading "Impossible Possibilities", by Jacque Bernier 1967... 3rd eye stuff... total anathema to cryonicists of course and materialists in general. The fatal blow to cryonics will be the discovery that quantum physics can prove that the mind is not "IN" the brain but rather "TRANSMITS" via the brain. The best way to think of the truth about this it to realize that Drexler, in his opus "Engines of Creation" which Mike Darwin loaned me a pre-publication copy of when I was in Riverside in 1984, says "memory and personality are embedded in preservable brain structure". That's the foundational idea for cryonics. It made sense to me for decades. It's also based on molecular technology on a scale of 10-9. It turns out that its wrong, because quantum physics is real and takes things down to 10-34 which is where mental phenomona reside. The mind is actually "IN" the quantumverse, not the Newtonian universe. It transmits to and from the Newtonian 10-9 level of things from a home base much tinier. Cryonics was the epitomy of classical physics. That's why I was involved. Doug Matzke, and Edward W. Russell, Dr. Penfield and HS Burr scientifically document phenom beyond 10-9 that defy classical physics and provide a home for quantum "mystical" physics that brings woo-woo into real consideration via scientific thinking. Quantum weirdness is real and its where the human mind resides. Cryonics is finished. I finished it. Rick Potvin finished cryonics. As Steve Jobs said: The journey is the reward.
