Our Golden Buddha gig went from 2007 to 2012 but early on during that phase, I started having "imaginings" or "visions" of Dorothy playing as she does but suddenly stopping with her arms, or one or the other, locked in the air, as she came to a death-freeze while playing. This "imagining" was quite UNinvited and there was no reason at the time for me to be having mind-visions like this but this vision repeated itself.
The vision became so overwhelming that on the way home and going to work, as we passed by a plaza with a paralegal, I couldn't help but think about making out wills and plans and stuff having to do with dying. Presenting to her her in a positive way one day in 2008, I got us stopped there on the way to work and we made out some medical and financial paperwork relevent to our situation and paid $400. I don't normally do stuff like that but the vision of her locked hands in the air, dying while playing the piano, freaked me out enough to get me to finally stop at that paralegal store... not a lawyer but good enough
Here we are 2025, and her approaching death involved her raising her left arm. The hospice nurse said it's normal and that I can reduce it by giving Dorothy a little shot of a drug that reduces that muscular move. I forgot to give it to and just watched her arm go up as she seemed quite relaxed and at peace, in no pain.
Only later did I put my original freak out vision together with the actual dying experience. I find that quite interesting in morbid way, but real way, and I'm sure Vincent Price would agree. There was nothing I could do at many junctures along this path other than comfort her and hire those who could help me comfort her.
The final straw was a video I found where a hospice nurse indicated that she though dying patients were raising their arms up to greet their spirit-pets floating in the air. I hope that's true. Because when Dorothy raised her arms, her eyes were often wide open-- staring off into space. I moved in front of her and she was looking past me. To visions of spirit friends and pets? I tried to get her attention but she was 'out there'. No blinking. Glassy eyes.
I waited for SDE, Shared Death Experience, nope. I'm pretty certain she was doing NDE though.
