I've gone through a complete phase change and am now merging Anti-Aging/Lifex with AfterLife and dumping cryonics. Cryonics assumes the mind is embedded in the brain and it turns out that the brain is a transciever, not a repository.
I've been practicing thinking about being a telepresent unit that is already immortal, as Ettinger cited on the last page of chapter 4 in MIS and it's working, esp. if I recall the OOBE on LSD while staring in a mirror. Combined with Russel/HSBurr and Matzke quantum physics, as well as multiplying accounts of NDE's and OOBE's... it turns out that quantumonics has a far higher chance of supporting my immortal self than does cryonics... and it doesn't depend on Alcor or CI's LN2. Preparing for EOL and ALE (AfterLifeExistence, my coinage) is now a complimentary task to my LIFEX/AAP (antiAgingProgram).
I now think EOL planning is even far more important than cryonics along with LongTermCare LTC planning & estate planning. Once all of the above are taken care of, I might concede to low quality cheap cryonics as a public sign of protest against short lifespan but I have a lot to take care before that occurs.
A nice intersection set for weak cryonicists like me and strong cryonicists would be a retirement/OldAgeFacility OAF for cryonicsits that would serve both them and me with the common interest being extended healthspan. HeathExtensionProgram HEP. A combination of Faloon's church, for exmaple with Jimmy Buffet's resort would be something along the lines of what I envision. I assign the liklihood of that occuring as 1X10*-43 however. It currently looks like its' every man (or womb-man) for him/her/self.
