This latest version of recovery for everyone isn't as starkly materialist and mechanical as Mike Perry's version but it attempts to have us believe that with enough time, information can be recovered. One major problem with Betrez's understanding however is that the opposite is true. Information theoretic death approaches 100% as time approaches infinity, even if cryopreserved perfectly. Radiation damage alone would destroy all connections.
It's all for naught anyway because the alternative universe discovered a hundred years ago, the world of quantum reality, has come to the rescue. It turns out that higher dimensional reality based on deep reality as described lately by Doug Matzke in "Deep Reality" in 2017 provides new insights and language for quantum reality that essentially provide a science based understanding of the supernatural. The world of woo-woo has been vindicated. We are woo. In other words, we actually are ghosts in the biological machine of the brain. We are quantum fields.
Doug Hoffman's notion of the brain as a transciever, articulated now in 2026 by many other thinkers, seems to be the fashionable and verivibly correct way to think about what we are. Hoffman says so called dying is like taking off the helmet or goggles of the brain-filter machine to expose our higher selves. This is consistent with Ettinger's speculation in the last part of chap. 4 in Man Into Superman, that ultimate evolution of man will be information-based-cloud-field. As it turns out, we're already there.
Instead of "information theoretic death" approaching zero as time approaches infinity, the way I view things now is that that it has already approached zero and we're but avatars living in meatbodies remotely controlled from quantum-fields. We're already immortal teleoperated units.
