Situated at the edge of Kingswood Forest, The Stone Dragon tavern is on the border of the King's control. Consequently, it is a hotspot for outlaws and law-abiding citizens alike. A number of secret rooms, doors and passages enable outlaws to hide or make a quick getaway whenever the King's men come swooping in. As there is also an inn here, this is also a popular place for temporary travellers and explorers.

Cypress would have elbowed Thoth under the table at his sly comment had she not been so busy covering her mouth to try and hide her surprised chuckle. Poor Jacopo looked rather put out as he made his excuse, swooping Effie up and away towards the food table. She'd have to track him down later and reassure him that she did not need a sex talk refresher (Olive and Sapphy had already given her their own versions of the talk; between the two she was pretty sure she had everything she needed to know - and more), but after her admission it would probably take her awhile to convince him... if it worked at all.
As Thoth quickly managed the water removal (at least it wasn't all over her this time), she tried to ignore her thundering heart. Now that they were alone, her announcement was less embarrassing and more... nope, actually, it was still quite embarrassing. She bit her lower lip, nervous about how he was going to react. Wasn't it a little weird for a girl to be so forward?
He squeezed her hand, drawing her hazel eyes up to his and Cy leaned a little closer out of habit. He was just so cute! She turned pink, her lips slightly parted and eyes dilated with obvious interest as he spoke - then they curved up at the corners with delight. She was his first girlfriend? She hadn't been sure; he was Thoth, but he was also Thoth. She seriously couldn't be the only one who noticed how utterly adorable and sweet he was. And more than that, he didn't think she was weird, or a total pervert, for thinking the way she had been.
Her heartbeat slipped up a notch again as he continued, and she grinned. She might've hugged him, if it wasn't so awkward a position in the booth. Instead she nodded in agreement.
"R-right, of course," her tongue darted across her lips, wetting them slightly. She leaned forward again as he continued. While a part of her was very interested in these bases - what they were, how they were done - there was also a small part of her that was strongly considering throwing them out the window. She squeaked with delight at his offer, nodding immediately.
"Yes!" she said, a little more breathily than usual. She cleared her throat, blushing, and repeated a bit more seriously. "Yes, please, I'd really like that." Not the least bit ashamed about taking advantage of the conversation, she ducked her head just a touch and whispered. "Does that mean I can ask for a birthday kis-?"
The door creaked open and silence rippled out from those nearest the door. The entire room froze so fast, so completely, that Cypress would have thought it was a spell - an attack, even - if it hadn't shattered a second later. Suddenly people were rushing towards the doorway, everyone talking at once. Cypress frowned, getting slowly to her feet. Still holding Thoth's hand, her world condensed down into a single point, a single moment. Her vision grayed and she swayed on her feet a touch, the sound rushing in her ears.
There, in the middle of the room, stood her mother. Not a ghost, not a spector, not a dream. The actual woman, stone-faced as ever despite the tears coursing down her cheeks. Alder had leapt into her arms and was squeezing her tightly while Olive sobbed and patted her mother's shoulder in disbelief. Cypress turned to Thoth, her expression panicked and face gray with shock.
"I need to get out of here," she managed to squeeze out, grasping his hand as if it were a lifeline. "Please."
