Situated at the edge of Kingswood Forest, The Stone Dragon tavern is on the border of the King's control. Consequently, it is a hotspot for outlaws and law-abiding citizens alike. A number of secret rooms, doors and passages enable outlaws to hide or make a quick getaway whenever the King's men come swooping in. As there is also an inn here, this is also a popular place for temporary travellers and explorers.

Cypress
tomorrow i will come back, leader of the whole pack
The door slammed open, light pouring over Cypress' battered face, and for the first time during the battle she finally felt hope. Someone stood silhouetted in the doorway, their face hidden by shadow, but even in her panic she thought she recognized the shape all the same. Even if it was just another worker, surely someone would do something. She tried to take advantage of the kennel master's distraction to wiggle free, even as her arm throbbed in protest, but he caught hold of her ankle to hold her in place even as he reached for the door handle.
And then came the water, and Cypress could finally breathe again. It wasn't the most gentle of aid, but Cypress didn't care: Thoth was early, and he was there, and she was going to be alright. She bit the inside of her cheek to keep herself from crying, struggling to sit up despite her injuries and bound hands. The dogs flocked to her, snuffling quietly as they took in her scent and whined at her injuries. Someone chomped at the rope binding her arms, wrestling it away from her raw wrists - they were as gentle as possible, but a few extra scrapes from their teeth would no doubt be visible by the end of it.
She swayed slightly to the side, pain and throbbing relief making her go limp. She rolled carefully to her hand and knees, crawling as far away from the kennel master as she could manage; she propped herself up in time to see Thoth strike the man. She flinched at the cracking sound, knowing well how Thoth's bones worked by now. Now he'd gotten hurt because... because... Her breath was coming too fast, pants with just the slightest tinge of a whine at the end, and the edges of her vision were blurry and dark. Then Thoth was there, striding through the water, and Cypress' practically threw herself into his arms as he dropped to his knees. She clung to him with her good arm, her other one limp and useless at her side. The shaking started seconds later, desperately holding on to Thoth as if he were the only thing in the world that could make it stop. Her eyes were clenched closed, the prior moments a painful blur beneath her eyelids. When she opened them...
Aura. Cypress recognized her immediately - she'd done enough reading and researching about Shaman to know - but the reason she was there eluded her. She tried, vaguely, tiredly, to get her brain to work. Aura was here... because... She couldn't even get herself to squeak out a word, a warning. She just lay her head on Thoth's shoulder and stared dazedly at the woman from her blackened eyes, feeling a little sick in more ways than one. Thankfully Thoth was more alert than she, gently pulling back a little to look at the woman.
"What-" breathed the goddess, and Cypress stirred vaguely. That was her cue, right? She was supposed to say something, explain... explain... No, she couldn't. Not now, not here. Not while that man still lay a few feet from her. Shaking renewed, Cypress pressed against Thoth again, craving the comfort of his hug and his familiar, safe form.
"P-please don't take me h-home," she whispered to him at last, her good hand clinging to his shirt. "I don't want to go home r-right now."
