The ivory femme crept along the grass, her eyes darting about every which way. She nervously called out, “Crimson?” Her brother was nowhere to be found. A call ripped through the air, welcoming any single wolves to a land called Amaya, a new pack. She was very close, so she set off. When she reached it, she stared at the very huge, winged male who was claiming. She shrank back. “I-I’m Evergreen. I seek to join a pack.” Her voice was small. She offered, “If you w-wish, I could serve as a kappa, given my ability to blend in.” The flowers on her back, little tiny things, were a helpful camouflage tool. Evergreen had used it several times already to stalk prey. The flowers blended her in perfectly.
She was looking for her brother, Crimson. She had no idea where he might be. Hopefully she could find him. Hopefully he was not too far. She had a memory of screaming his name as they tumbled into a portal. They’d been by their lake. . . .
She shuddered. Just looking at this male made Evergreen want to scream. She didn’t know him. He might mean harm to her. She eyed him warily.
“I know that I can’t find nobody else as good as you.”
