IT'S IN THE TASTE BETWEEN LIFE & DEATH
The Shield Maiden didn't have to dwell on her thoughts long as her beloved husband approached. He silently moved to her, resting against her frame and she did the same. A small smile crept over her face as her eyes blinked slowly and watched the field for a moment. "My love, the war has left its mark on us all. But we have come through it, together, and we will continue to face whatever challenges lie ahead. You are not alone in your fears." His words made her gently nod, before she looked to meet his eyes with her own to find her answers. She felt safe with him around, like she was able to be herself. Surely she was always herself, but she was more out of her shell around him. He knew what she was feeling and thinking.
His words put her at ease, yet she still was in her thoughts of his own opinion on children. He knew her wants well enough, but surely knew her fears that circled. Between Phobus's traits, and fear of the ongoing wars plaguing the realm, she feared for her future children's safety. They would train as she did. His muzzle pressing against her cheek made her thoughts silent, a smile on her lips as she nuzzled into him gently. "Yesimire, my love," His words had her entranced. "Life is precious, and together, we will face whatever challenges may come. Our love will guide us through the shadows, and our children will be a testament to our resilience and strength. I share your concerns, but I also believe in the power of love and the nurturing environment we can provide for them."
Her smile widened as she listened to him, taking in his words. "If you are ready, my love, then I am ready too. Together, we can navigate the joys and uncertainties of being parents, and ensure that our children grow up in a world filled with love, compassion, and the knowledge that they are surrounded by a pack who will protect and cherish them." She gave a nod, moving closer to him with a small giggle. She nuzzled into his neck. "I agree, Demius. I agree." She said softly, pulling her head back to look into his eyes once more. "We would make such strong, beautiful children. They'd grow up in a home, loved, cherished, and respected. I have never wanted children, until I met you." She said softly, giggling as she rose to her feet. She gave a nod to their den, before walking toward it. Her plumes swishing side by side as she did, hoping he was following. She looked back regardless as she stopped at the entrance, hoping to meet his gaze with a smile before entering.
