Elane blinked as the two began arguing. She had to admit, she was baffled by these pups . . . all alone, one being an orphan while one might as well be an orphan. “Amberbjorne is currently ruled by Queen Themis and King Mabbit, and no - we won’t kill you,” she said in response to the red pup. Both of them were relentlessly arguing. Elli sighed to herself. What a strange pair these two were . . . where did they come from? Had they been born in Starfall? They couldn’t be brothers, because though they were of relatively the same age, they had mentioned that one’s parents were dead, while the other’s had simply abandoned him. How sad, truly. Elane’s father had never raised Elli or her brothers and sister, but at least their mother had always been with them. She couldn’t imagine not having a mother to raise you. Then again, she also couldn’t imagine ever meeting her father . . . the man she supposedly looked so alike to. Obviously, since she shared next to nothing of Evangeline’s appearance; but she had never set eyes on her father herself.
