He chewed his lip as she stood still, surely hurt and shocked by his speech. "Bastian . . ." He opened his jaws quickly. "We were never mates anyways, it was just a fling. But I'm sorry that your feelings were subjected to my ignorance." He said, he couldn't look at her. As she got up to run away, he noticed her wobble but couldn't bring himself from how he stood. He needed to be strong, he needed to speak the truth no matter how hard it may be for her to hear.
He sighed as she vanished from his view, his eyes traveling to where she once was and where their children laid motionless. His limbs brought him to the two, as he picked them up gently and dug a grave to place them in. They deserved better, and he could only hope that wherever Rayne would go that she'd be happier and safer. As he placed a rock on the freshly moved soil he felt relief wash over him. This was no time to bring children into a world, and not a time for him to bring a woman into the mix either.
He nuzzled the rock, and his eyes cast out towards where Rayne had disappeared too. She was gone, and hopefully for good if she knew what was best for her. She could do better than a wanted man. His red and gray wings gently lifted him into the air as he began to search for Bones, as he searched for a safe and strong pack to call home.
