The way the teenage girl in front of Gedeon thought she could drive him off was funny to the Nightmare, who merely laughed in her face. “I see your fear, girlie. You aren’t fooling me.” He leaned in close, eyes flicking over her form. Gedeon could see Awurin’s body was tensed, adrenaline probably flooding her system. He took still another step. “You’re a pretty little thing, I’ll give you that. You think you’re so tough, all puffed up like that?” He was nearly on top of the girl now. He could tell that she was a direwolf - but she still wasn’t fully grown, so she was about as tall as him. Yet, Gedeon knew he had the upper hand in strength. “I’ll tell you a secret. I am the monster that haunts these woods. I take whatever I want of trespassers. I’ll have it from you, just like any other.” He leaped, seeking to pin Awurin so that her face was in the dirt and he was fully on top of her, pinning her to the sparse grass that struggled to grow. If he only half caught her, they would likely be locked in a battle to get on top.
“Stuck in their homes they go nowhere!”
