Hazel’s eyes flicked over the trees, the water, the sky. Swishing her nine tails, she wandered over to the brook. She needed a drink. She needed fun, too. She was bored of living with her family. Her father was dead, her brother was somewhere, and their mother was joining Amaya. Amaya did sound fun, in truth. But Hazel wasn’t ready for the restrictions that came with living in a pack. She would get bored, she thought, even in Amaya. Plus, she found delight in sleeping in a new place every night, as was her custom. Even when she found herself in a part of Starfall she’d spent the night in before, she’d just find a new area. Today she was wandering the length of the Babbling Brook. She ached for pleasure, for adventure. The adventure part of that ache she satiated by traveling. She traveled constantly. That was fun. What was not fun was meeting no boys whatsoever, though. You’d think with how all over the place she’d been, she would have met at least one . . .
She was thoroughly satisfied with the clear cool water from the brook. She might have to travel back here every day if only for the water - and she could do that, too. She was in shape and very, very lean and muscly. Roaming for miles every day did that to a wolf. She was pretty, too. Her fur shined, and often mist hung around her in droplets, for she was still learning to control her elementalism. She knew she could attract the boys, if only there were any around here. . . .
