Daenerys’ mate had been gone a month. She was just slightly overdue, and every day the discomfort of an overdue pregnancy weighed on the delta, as well as the pain of witnessing Ghost’s heroic death. He had died to save Dany - and now she knew he had saved their unborn children, too.
It didn’t make the coping easier at all.
She was in her den most days now. She hated to go anywhere, since everything reminded her of Ghost, and she really didn’t want to face all the condolences she knew had been lining up.
She wouldn’t remember the contractions starting.
fade out, fade in
A long while later, Daenerys of House Targaryen lay curled next to her three new children. She had one daughter, beautiful Helaena; the answer to Rhaegal’s wish. The other two were boys, and just looking at the younger one, youngest of the three, she knew she should name him Aegon.
The molted boy. Ice blue flecked his eyes, so much like Daenerys’ own. She recalled her words to Ghost, so long ago.
“Cregan, Helaena, and Aegon,” she breathed, nestling into her children.
“So light me up, light me up, light me up, go ahead light me up!”Ghost | Drekistone Delta | Mother of Drogon, Viserion, Rhaegal, Cregan, Helaena & Aegon | Cousin to Thyrius & Lucaya | Targaryen | Nadia
