All had been quiet, and not in a good way. Her children had grown up and left the nest to have their own dens. The Gods only knew what trouble they'd get into. It'd been quiet some time since she had seen anyone, her father, mother, siblings, even her mate seemed to be missing. Where had everyone gone? The Queen had been bored, even those she had promised to turn were nowhere to be found. Maverick had yapped her ear off about Daneliya, it was interesting how quickly he proclaimed them mates and then just off with her. She must have actually had an affair with that Bristow fellow if she'd chose to uproot herself, brother and kids to leave Hawthorne. Her den was abandoned, as was Remus'. Bristow was nowhere to be found yet either. How interesting that all of these creatures vanished.
She had started to believe she was alone in the pack, fearing the worst. Though scents of those she knew still haunted her borders showing they were doing something of checks for intruders or wanderers seeking a home. How strange it was for her to find herself dwelling so close to her own borders alone. Vladimirs scent washed into her nares, followed by another. A young child, smelling of ash. Strange, she'd have to speak with him. Just as the thought entered her head, she heard a call from the far south. Her pitch black body stayed to the shadows, dusk was upon her. That was the time she could come out and play. The closer she got, the more of this mans scent she picked up. Her crimsons flared, it'd been some time . . .
The Queen stayed silent in the brush, likely hidden to this boy. He was a young adult, mismatched eyes. Just like hers once were in her old home. Before the original change that brought her this power. Her large body emerged out into the scarce light to show herself to the snow like boy. "You stand in the presence of the Vampire Queen Lucaya, Alphess of Hawthorne and mate of King Nibris. What is your name, and what do you seek?" She asked, her crown and banner high in the air. Her crimson eyes watched him, carefully evaluating his appearance. He looked strong, angry. Something she could use on her court possibly. "Is it a home, a title . . . Power?"
"Another trick to treat, with candy apple dreams . . ."
