Calida wandered the lands of Hawthorne, the cold air biting at her skin. She didn’t want to hang out with her siblings-nobody paid her any attention. Joy, Dianthe, Ambrose and Harlow were too busy with one another, and Lord knew what Deyja and Viessa were doing. Lysander, Sereia and Arion-she’d tried once or twice, but just nobody wanted to hang out with Calida. She spoke her mind. She was observant and talented. Was it jealousy, or what? Calida had her own opinions, and her opinion was that if she couldn’t find a friend, she’d make her own. She didn’t need the others.
Calida wandered out far into the frosty grass of the land that was nearest to the Icecaps. She loved the life that could withstand the cold temperatures-spruces, rabbits, goats. But all of a sudden, a rumbling shook the earth. Calida yelped. A beat, then there it was again.
And a massive wall of snow came crashing down toward her.
“But I’ll take the pain, give me the truth”
